The De Wildt Cheetah Centre was established in 1971 with the aim of breeding endangered species. Over the past thirty eight years the centre has successfully bred the cheetah with over 600 cubs being born there. 

While it was primarily a base for cheetah research and captive breeding, the centre has widened its scope to include other rare species such as Wild Dog, Brown Hyena, Serval, Suni, Blue and Red Duiker, Bontebok, Riverine Rabbit and the rare Egyptian vulture. 

Many of the animals bred at the centre have been successfully re-introduced into the wild, helping to repopulate areas from which they were previously driven to extinction.

This tour can be upgraded to to FULL day tour including a light lunch at the Chameleon Village Market where visitors get the chance to buy some African Crafts from the traders from all parts of Africa.
